DeAngelo Banks Dies, Bryan Perez Charged in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Rialto Avenue near Spruce Street

 
RIALTO, CA (August 17, 2023) — DeAngelo Banks died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Rialto Avenue near Spruce Street.
 
According to the Rialto Police, the fatal hit-and-run happened on August 13 around 4:37 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, 23-year-old Bryan Perez struck 37-year-old Banks in the 800 block of Rialto Avenue.
 
Perez reportedly left the scene, leaving several drivers thereafter to run over Banks.
 
However, with the help of surveillance footage from nearby properties, police determined the vehicle involved– a 2003 Ford Expedition–that killed Banks.
 
Following through, police arrested Perez, charging him with hit-and-run causing injury and death. He remains incarcerated at West Valley Detention Center.
