Pedestrian Collision in Moreno Valley Turns Fatal

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (January 22, 2024) — Tragedy struck in Moreno Valley as a 64-year-old man, identified as David Ristow, lost his life in a pedestrian collision early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place just after 5 a.m. Ristow, described as an itinerant, was attempting to cross Perris Boulevard, south of Bay Avenue. Simultaneously, an Isuzu Trooper, heading southbound, approached the location at an undetermined speed.
 
The driver of the SUV was unable to stop in time, resulting in a collision with Ristow. Initial findings indicated that there is no marked pedestrian crossing at the location.
 
The driver of the Isuzu Trooper immediately stopped and waited for first responders. Unfortunately, paramedics pronounced Ristow dead at the scene 10 minutes later.
 
Deputies questioned the driver involved in the incident, and as of now, no arrest has been made. There is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
