Dangelo Charles Detained, Fayth Mccan-Bush, Child Hospitalized in Deadly Head-On Crash on Highway 149 near Highway 99

 
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (August 10, 2023) — Dangelo Charles faces charges in a fatal head-on accident on Highway 149 near Highway 99.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car collision happened around 2:15 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, 26-year-old Dangelo Charles, of Sacramento, lost control of his southbound 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. Subsequently, the Jetta veered into northbound traffic and collided head-on with a 1999 green Ford Ranger.
 
Two people in the Ford Ranger, who remain unidentified, perished in the crash.
 
Minutes later, officers and paramedics responded to the scene to find Charles, his 25-year-old passenger Fayth Mccan-Bush of Paradise, and a 3-year-old from Paradise with major injuries. Emergency personnel shuttled all three to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
 
Although police have not identified the major cause of the accident, they arrested Charles for an unknown reason. More information on this crash will be determined following an in-depth investigation.
