Rollover Accident on 8 Freeway near Old Highway 80 Kills Two People

LAKESIDE, CA (February 15, 2022) – Claudia Jeanne Hefley was among two people who died in a rollover accident in the Lakeside area of San Diego County Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened on February 12, just west of Old Highway 80 undercrossing. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling westbound on the freeway when it overturned on the northern embankment.
 
Responding paramedics located Hefley in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. They also found another occupant in the driver’s seat. Both suffered blunt force injuries and died at the scene.
 
Hefley was a 51-year-old San Diego resident. The driver was only described as a 44-year-old man, also from San Diego.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
