Motorcyclist Dies in Morning Livermore Crash Involving Several Other Vehicles on 580 Freeway

 
LIVERMORE, CA (April 21, 2024) – Christopher Joseph Corrado was killed in a motorcycle accident in Livermore Thursday morning on April 18.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:00 a.m. on westbound 580 Freeway, just north of Livermore Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, Corrado was riding his 2019 Indian motorcycle when he failed to slow down as he approached traffic. The motorcycle struck the rear of a Mercedes SUV.
 
The impact ejected Corrado onto the freeway and he was hit by a big rig with a trailer.
 
A second big rig ran over the motorcycle. A fifth vehicle was also reported to be involved in the crash.
 
As a result, Corrado suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 38-year-old Discovery Bay resident.
 
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.
