DUI Rollover Crash on Copper Avenue in Fresno County Kills Two Men

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 19, 2024)Chase McCutcheon and Jason Phillips were killed in a DUI rollover crash in Fresno County early Sunday morning on March 17.
 
The fatal crash happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. on the east side of Copper Avenue near Willow Avenue, just down the road from Clovis North High School. According to the California Highway Patrol, three men were in a Tesla heading westbound on Copper when the car struck a center median guardrail.
 
The Tesla then overturned before hitting another guardrail.
 
McCutcheon, 32, and Phillips, 24, were not wearing their seat belts and were ejected from the car. Both died at the scene.
 
A third passenger was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Officials said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
