LATHROP, CA (November 4, 2022) — Carlos Ortiz Jr. was found killed following Tuesday’s car accident near the 5 Freeway and Highway 120.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a caller notified the Stockton Communication Center about a collision near the southbound 5 Freeway and Highway 120. Upon responding, police found 41-year-old Carlos Ortiz Jr. with a gunshot wound and his toddler unharmed in the vehicle.
 
Although officials administered life-saving efforts, crews pronounced him dead moments later. As for the toddler, authorities returned her to her family safely.
