Cameron Aguilar Charged with DUI, Deadly Pedestrian Crash at Maroa Avenue and Fern Avenue
FRESNO, CA (February 8, 2024) — Cameron Aguilar faces DUI charges following Wednesday’s deadly pedestrian accident at Maroa Avenue and Fern Avenue.
According to Fresno Police Officers, the deadly crash happened around 1:35 a.m. near the Dollar Tree parking lot. For DUI reasons, 25-year-old Cameron Aguilar lost control of her car while speeding. Subsequently, her vehicle hit a man and a woman standing next to the Dollar Tree store while turning west on Fern Avenue.
Minutes later, the Fresno’s Collision Reconstruction Unit responded and determined that speed and DUI factored into the cause. Meanwhile, police arrested and booked Aguilar into Fresno County jail on several charges, including DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Tragically, the male pedestrian died at the scene. His female companion suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
At this time, the coroner has not released the fatal victim’s name pending family notification. If anyone can help traffic investigators with this case, please call Fresno Police.
