Caltrans Worker Struck by Alleged DUI Motorist on Highway 168 in Clovis

 
CLOVIS, CA (November 3, 2023) — A Caltrans worker hit by a suspected DUI driver on Highway 168 near Bullard Avenue suffered major injuries.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened on October 26 around 2:30 p.m. As a Caltrans worker performed a cleanup of an embankment, a driver entered the cone pattern and struck him with the car’s mirror.
 
Rather than stopping, the driver continued; however, a Good Samaritan stopped the fleeing driver. Not long after, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
 
As for the Caltrans worker, he suffered moderate to major injuries.
