California Highway Patrol Officer Sustains Major Injuries in Accident on Santa Monica Freeway in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 15, 2022) – Police confirmed that a CHP officer suffered injuries in an accident on Santa Monica Freeway on March 29.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 7:15 AM.
Based on a report, a 25-year-old pedestrian had ignored the officer’s commands to stop and jumped over the freeway’s center divider. Subsequently, the victim pursued him for safety. Then, a GMC Yukon driven by a 39-year-old Los Angeles woman struck her.
As a result, the officer suffered major injuries in the incident.
Police did not charge the Yukon driver. However, they arrested the pedestrian. It was not immediately clear what charges he might face.
