Driver Hits Two Pedestrians and Shop near Park Street in Alameda

 
ALAMEDA, CA (September 9, 2024) — A car hit two pedestrians and a business near Park Street and Santa Clara Avenue Thursday morning.
 
According to the Alameda Police Department, the pedestrian crash happened around 9:56 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver heading eastbound on Santa Clara Avenue turned left but struck two pedestrians before smashing into the front window of Gong Cha bubble tea. Subsequently, Alameda Fire Department officials responded to 1501 Park St. and found the Honda sedan partially blocking the sidewalk and halfway inside the business.
 
Fortunately, the two pedestrians reported minor wounds and were brought to a hospital for treatment. At this time, the café, empty at the time of the accident, remains boarded up. The driver did not report any injuries but remained in the vehicle for the extrication process by firefighters.
