Car Accident Reported after Big Rig Carrying Fish Crashes into Car on 5 Freeway in Lincoln Heights

 
LINCOLN HEIGHTS, CA (April 27, 2022) – A big rig loaded with 21,000 pounds of fish crashed into a car on 5 Freeway, early Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on April 25 at about 12:52 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a big rig slammed into a blue low-rider sedan near Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway.
 
The collision caused the sedan to blow a tire, spin out of control, and crash into the center divider. As per reports, the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
 
It is unknown whether there were any injuries sustained in the accident. However, officers later confirmed that there were no fatalities.
 
Responders issued a SigAlert at 1:23 a.m. to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
