Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Arey Drive [San Diego, CA]

Thanksgiving Day Hit-and-Run Crash on Arey Drive near the Silver Wing Recreation Center Left Bicyclist Dead

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 29, 2021) — A 40-year-old man died after a hit-and-run accident on Arey Drive on Thursday, November 25.
 
According to Lt. Jud Campbell, they received reports of the incident near the Silver Wing Recreation Center on Arey Drive just before 11:30 a.m.
 
When officers arrived at the area, they found the injured man in the street next to a bicycle. Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital where he died.
 
San Diego Police Department traffic detectives initially rushed to the scene. They discovered a vehicle had struck the bicyclist before it left the area in an unknown direction.
 
San Diego Police Officer Dave O’Brien said that they believe the vehicle is an older model Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe. There are no details on the involved driver, O’Brien added.
 
Traffic detectives gathered information showing that the traffic crash may have been intentional. They turned over the investigation to the department’s Homicide Unit.
