CALAVERAS COUNTY, CA (June 20, 2023) – A bicyclist was airlifted after a traffic accident with a truck on Highway 26 in the West Point area of Calaveras County late Thursday afternoon on June 15.
 
The accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. between Niderost Lane and Centennial Mine Road on a curve. According to the California Highway Patrol, the bicyclist collided with the truck in unclear circumstances.
 
First responders found the bicyclist down on the roadway.
 
An air ambulance took the bicyclist to a hospital in an unknown condition.
