Benjamin Mondragon Detained After Hit-and-Run Crash on Air Expressway at Highway 395

 
ADELANTO, CA (February 22, 2021) — Benjamin Mondragon was arrested in a hit-and-run accident on Air Expressway at Highway 395 Thursday morning.
 
According to Sheriff’s officials, the crash happened around 7:06 a.m. For unknown reasons, Mondragon ran a red light at the intersection.
 
As a result, his 2002 Dodge collided with a 2003 Toyota Corolla. Following the accident, Mondragon and three others left the scene. However, police found the suspects and arrested Mondragon for injury hit-and-run charges.
 
Upon responding to the scene, firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the 35-year-old driver from the Toyota. Shortly after, a helicopter airlifted him to a trauma center for treatment.
 
At this time, the crash remains under investigation. Although, anyone with more information about this crash should contact the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.
