Baykomious Elmagarisy Killed in Head-On Accident on Mariposa Road [Hesperia, CA]

Driver Killed in Hesperia Head-On Crash Identified

 
HESPERIA, CA (February 2, 2021) – A man who died in a head-on accident in Hesperia was identified as 31-year-old Baykomious Elmagarisy.
 
The accident happened earlier this month on January 4 at 10:38 a.m. on Mariposa Road, just south of Sycamore Street.
 
Authorities said Elmagarisy, a resident of High Desert, was driving a Subaru Impreza north on Mariposa Road passing vehicles at a high rate of speed. He attempted to pass another northbound vehicle by crossing into the southbound lanes. He then collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma that was traveling south on Mariposa Road.
 
As a result of the collision, Elmagarisy sustained severe injuries. Arriving paramedics performed life-saving measures, but he died at the scene.
 
The 88-year-old male driver of the Tacoma suffered major injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
 
The accident remains under investigation.
