Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in Upland Claims Woman’s Life

 
UPLAND, CA (December 11, 2023) — On December 6, the police arrested a driver involved in a fatal pedestrian crash on Foothill Boulevard.
 
The tragic incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Based on police reports, a pedestrian was crossing Foothill Boulevard near Wilson Avenue outside of a crosswalk when the collision happened. The pedestrian suffered significant injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she later succumbed to her injuries. The authorities have not released her name but said she was a 59-year-old female.
 
Meanwhile, the driver continued after the collision. Twenty minutes later, an officer found him and his damaged truck in a parking lot at Mountain Avenue and Foothill, roughly one-third of a mile from the collision site. The police arrested the 27-year-old driver, a man from Upland, on charges of felony hit-and-run. They booked him into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, and later, he posted bail.
 
The police are still investigating who was at fault for this fatal pedestrian crash on Foothill Boulevard.
