Pilot Dies after Small Communter Plane Crashes at Montgomery Field in Kearny Mesa

 
KEARNY MESA, CA (November 7, 2022) – Andre Roosevelt Green died in a plane crash in Kearny Mesa late Saturday morning, November 5.
 
The crash happened around 11:50 a.m. at the northeast end of Montgomery Field. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the small commuter plane crashed shortly after takeoff.
 
Green, the 46-year-old pilot, was trapped in the plane’s wreckage. Responding fire crews extricated and rushed him to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Sadly, Green did not survive and was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
 
No one on the ground was injured, and no fire or explosion was reported at the time of the crash.
 
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
