Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on 5 Freeway at Richards Boulevard

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 8, 2023) – Allen Walter Walley was killed in a pedestrian accident in Sacramento Monday morning on July 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway at Richards Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Walley was crossing lanes of the freeway when a pickup truck struck him.
 
As a result, Walley suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 55-year-old Sacramento resident, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
 
It is unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved.
 
Further investigation is underway.
