Alicia Gonzalez, Nache Phillips Hospitalized in Deadly 3-Car Accident on 15 Freeway near Wildomar Trail

 
WILDOMAR, CA (August 8, 2023) — Alicia Gonzalez and Nache Phillips suffered serious injuries in a fatal 15 Freeway crash near Wildomar Trail.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car accident happened around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a 23-year-old driving a southbound 2014 Hyundai Genesis struck a Nissan Rogue at a high rate of speed.
 
Per authorities, the 24-year-old Hyundai passenger — Alicia Gonzalez, of Vista — and the driver unbuckled their seatbelts after the first impact. However, a 2019 Nissan Armada struck their disabled Hyundai, ejecting both from the car.
 
Soon after, Cal Fire firefighters arrived at the scene but confirmed the Hyundai driver deceased. Reports did not clearly say if that individual was a male or female.
 
Following the crash, paramedics took Gonzalez to a hospital with major injuries. Nache Phillips, of Aguanga — the 47-year-old Armada driver — reported minor injuries in the crash, but news reports reported nothing on the Rogue occupants.
 
At this time, investigators do not know what caused the crash but believe alcohol played a role in the accident. Those with information can call the CHP at 951-506-2000.
