56-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck in Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, CA (September 10, 2023) – Alejandro Hernandez was killed in a pedestrian accident in Santa Rosa Wednesday afternoon on September 6.
The fatal accident happened around 12:05 p.m. in the 500 block of Sebastopol Road, just west of Dutton Avenue. According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was turning left onto westbound Sebastopol Road when Hernandez ran from the north side of the road in front of the truck.
Hernandez sustained blunt force trauma and died at the scene. He was 56 years old from Santa Rosa, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Coroner unit.
After the crash, the 70-year-old driver of the pickup truck cooperated with police and took sobriety tests.
It does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, according to authorities.
