Cessa Aircraft Crashes near French Valley Airport Killing 6 People
MURRIETA, CA (July 12, 2023) – Six people died in a plane crash near French Valley Airport in Murrieta early Saturday morning on July 8.
The crash was reported at 4:15 a.m. in the area of Auld and Briggs roads. According to the reports, a Cessna C550 business crashed about 500 feet short of the originally intended landing runway.
Upon arrival of deputies, they found the aircraft fully engulfed in flames in a field. All six occupants died at the scene.
The burning aircraft caused a vegetation fire of about one acre.
Officials said that visibility was obscured by a marine layer at the time. The jet had departed Las Vegas International Airport less than an hour earlier.
On Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner identified the six victims as 33-year-old Abigail Tellez-Vargas of Murrieta, 25-year-old Riese Lenders of Rancho Palos Verdes, 32-year-old Manuel Vargas-Regalado of Temecula, 31-year-old Lindsey Gleiche of Huntington Beach, 51-year-old Alma Razick and 46-year-old Ibrahem Razick, both of Temecula.
At this time, an investigation is underway.
