93-Year-Old Man Killed in 2-Car Crash at Cornelius Avenue in Yuba County

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (January 8, 2024) — A 93-year-old man died in a 2-car accident at Cornelius Avenue and Pleasant Grove Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Yuba Sutter office, the deadly two-car crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a 93-year-old man who had just stopped at the stop sign at Cornelius Avenue drove eastbound in his 2017 Toyota Prius. Subsequently, a southbound 2019 Toyota Highlander hit the driver’s side of his Prius.
 
Tragically, the 93-year-old Prius driver of Wheatland passed away from his injuries. Neither the 19-year-old Toyota Highlander driver of Citrus Heights nor his two male juvenile passengers reported any injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, the fatal victim’s name and the factors leading to the crash are unavailable. However, CHP Yuba Sutter’s office said neither drugs nor alcohol factored into the cause. If anyone has additional insight into this accident, please call their department.
