87-Year-Old Aurora Reynozo Killed, Juan Martinez Charged in DUI Crash on Foothill Boulevard near Polk Street

 
SYLMAR, CA (September 11, 2023) — Aurora Reynozo died in a DUI accident on Foothill Boulevard near Polk Street Thursday night.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the deadly multi-car crash happened around 8:45 p.m. For DUI reasons, 33-year-old Juan Martinez lost control of his Ford Fusion. Subsequently, the northbound Ford struck a parked vehicle, occupied by a female driver and a female passenger. Upon impact, the Ford subsequently struck several other vehicles.
 
Soon after the accident, paramedics responded and took the female driver of the parked car to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities do not have an update on her condition. The female passenger, however, passed away.
 
Authorities learned that 87-year-old Aurora Reynozo tried to exit the vehicle at the time of the impact, which sent her onto the ground. She died as a result of her major injuries.
 
At this time, authorities have Martinez booked on murder charges with a bail set at $2 million.
