Elderly Passenger Dies after Crash with DUI Driver on Oak Grove Road in Concord

 
CONCORD, CA (November 26, 2023) – An 86-year-old man was killed in a DUI head-on crash on Oak Grove Road in Concord Thursday night on November 23.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:50 p.m. near Treat Boulevard. According to the Concord Police Department, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Oak Grove Road when it hit one vehicle and then slammed head-on into another vehicle, which was traveling in the southbound lanes.
 
As a result of the crash, the elderly male passenger in the third vehicle suffered severe injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
It is unclear whether anyone else was injured in the crash.
 
Police arrested the driver of the northbound vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
The crash remains under investigation. Police asked anyone with further information to call them at 925-671-5065.
