2 Pedestrians Among Hospitalized After Van Crashes near Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (January 13, 2025) — Five people are hurt, including two pedestrians, when a van loses control and crashes near Stearns Wharf and Cabrillo Boulevard.
 
According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the car accident happened around 4:00 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a white delivery van lost control at the end of the wharf. Subsequently, the van crashed into 10 cars, many of which were parked. Along the way, the van struck two pedestrians, who suffered serious injuries.
 
Among the five hospitalized were three occupants of a four-door sedan. All five were taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
 
Soon after, the Santa Barbara City Fire arrived at the scene, finding the van that struck the wood barrier at the end of the wharf. Police did not confirm the leading cause of the accident, but they are diving into the details further.
