HAYWARD, CA (December 12, 2022) — An 82-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Harris Road and Manon Avenue.
 
According to Hayward Police officers, the fatal pedestrian crash took place around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck the 82-year-old victim, trapping her underneath the vehicle. The driver reportedly fled on foot but returned to the scene moments later.
 
Per police officers, the uninjured driver cooperated with the investigators. However, they are investigating whether this could be a hit-and-run.
