80-Year-Old Ronald Dickerson Killed in 3-Car Crash on Highway 101 near Union Valley Parkway

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (May 24, 2024) — Ronald Dickerson died in a three-car accident on Highway 101 near Union Valley Parkway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-car accident happened around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, 80-year-old Dickerson failed to stop behind stopped traffic. Subsequently, his Honda Civic struck a 2023 Dodge Durango, sending it into a 1996 Dodge truck.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and took Dickerson to Marian Regional Medical Center where he died from severe injuries, including chest trauma.
 
Five people reported minor injuries, including two in the Dodge Durango who were released from the hospital moments later. If any witnesses could help traffic investigators identify other outstanding details, please call the CHP.
