77-Year-Old Harry McCreery Dead, Jimmy Whitehead Charged in DUI Truck Accident on 10 Freeway Off-Ramp at Oak Valley Parkway

 
BEAUMONT, CA (October 3, 2023) — Harry McCreery died in a DUI big rig accident on the 10 Freeway at Oak Valley Parkway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal truck accident happened Thursday night on the eastbound 10 Freeway off-ramp at Oak Valley Parkway. For DUI reasons, 62-year-old Jimmy Ray Whitehead rear-ended three vehicles stopped at a red traffic light.
 
After 9:30 p.m., paramedics responded and took four people to nearby hospitals. One patient, identified as 77-year-old Harry McCreery, died at Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley less than one hour after the crash.
 
During the investigation, officers arrested Whitehead on suspicion of DUI. He remains incarcerated at Banning’s Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility with bail set at $75,000.
