Elderly Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Motorcycle on Western Avenue in South LA

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (May 8, 2023) – A 72-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Western Avenue and 79th Street in the South Los Angeles area late Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on May 4. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was walking in the area when a motorcycle struck him.
 
After the crash, the rider did not stop to render aid.
 
Responding emergency crews rushed the victim to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name was not immediately released.
 
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve this case.
