RIO LINDA, CA (September 19, 2022) — Six people suffered injuries after a driver crashed into a car at Dry Creek Road and Elkhorn Boulevard on Friday night.

According to reports, California Highway Patrol responded to news of a sideshow around 9:11 p.m. One vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old from the East Bay area, tried to leave the scene after an officer attempted to pull the driver over.

However, as the driver failed to comply, he struck another car – driven by a pregnant woman – as he drove through a red light.

Due to the accident, the pregnant woman suffered major injuries and lost her unborn child.

Her passenger sustained moderate injuries and three Honda occupants were also taken to a hospital for care.

After being medically cleared, the 17-year-old from Livermore was booked into Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.

If anyone has more information on this accident, please call the CHP.

It’s not uncommon for drivers to run red traffic lights. When you are moving from a stop at an intersection, look both ways to clear the road. You might find people running red lights. Always assuming the worst prepares you for the unexpected.
