Pickup Truck Hits and Kills Child on 55th Way in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (March 23, 2024) – A 4-year-old girl was killed in a pedestrian accident at 55th Way and Paramount Boulevard in Long Beach on Friday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on March 22. According to the Long Beach Police Department, a 2020 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on 55th Way when it struck the child, who was crossing outside a crosswalk.
 
The impact caused the child significant injuries. Paramedics rushed her to a local hospital, where she later died.
 
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Downey man who was driving the pickup truck stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
