4 Hospitalized in Head-On Crash on Highway 126 in Valencia
VALENCIA, CA (April 23, 2024) — Four people were injured in a head-on accident on Highway 126 at Chiquito Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 4:55 a.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, the drivers of a Toyota Tacoma and a semi-truck collided. Subsequently, CHP officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, finding four patients needing attention.
Two people suffered moderate injuries and two others reported minor injuries in the collision, which caused a closure for all highway lanes.
At the time of the report, traffic investigators did not specify the ultimate cause. However, if anyone has more information surrounding the cause, please call the CHP.
Keep yourself safe when driving near larger vehicles like semi-trucks. Semi-trucks are big, heavy and slow to respond compared to smaller moving cars. Stay out of their blind spots and do not switch lanes directly in front of them. Giving them extra space and time to pass and merge can greatly decrease the risk of accidents. Always give trucks room when turning, as well.
