3 Minors Involved in San Jacinto Police Chase Crash into Sports Shop on State Street

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (February 23, 2022) — Three minors were involved in a police chase accident when a car crashed into a sports shop on State Street near Brinton Street on Monday night.
 
According to reports, the San Jacinto sheriff station attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Honda sedan around 9:40 p.m.
 
However, the driver failed to comply and led the police on a brief chase. As the pursuit continued eastbound on Cottonwood Avenue, the driver lost control of the car and slammed into a tree before crashing into SJ Sports Shop at high speeds.
 
Soon after, police took three individuals into custody without further incident. However, upon learning that the trio were minors, deputies contacted their parents and requested them to the scene.
 
After locating evidence of alcohol inside the vehicle, officers issued a sobriety test on the Honda driver. The driver passed a series of tests, but police arrested the driver for felony evading before releasing him to his parents.
