3 Killed in Rollover Accident on Highway 198 near Plaza Drive [Visalia, CA]

Driver and Two Passengers Die after Pickup Truck Overturns on Highway 198 in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (August 15, 2023) – Three people were killed in a rollover accident on Highway 198 in Visalia early Monday morning on August 14.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 4:00 a.m. along the westbound highway near Plaza Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup truck veered off the south road edge for unknown reasons.
 
The driver attempted to swerve back onto the road, but lost control and veered off the north road edge. The truck then overturned several times.
 
A man and a woman in the truck were thrown from the vehicle. Both were not wearing seat belts.
 
The right front passenger was wearing their seat belt.
 
All three occupants suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
