Driver Runs Red Light and Causes Two-Vehicle Accident on Shaw Avenue near Maroa Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 26, 2023) – Three people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Shaw Avenue, Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 20, at about 10:35 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a westbound Toyota Camry ran a red light and collided with a southbound Subaru near Maroa Avenue.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to hit and knock down a traffic light.
 
As per reports, two people in the Toyota and one in the Subaru suffered minor injuries. However, the victims did not need hospitalization.
 
Emergency crews temporarily closed the affected area to repair the traffic light.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
 
When approaching an intersection, reduce your speed and look out for other vehicles. Pay attention to and obey stop signs, traffic lights, yield signs, and other traffic signals. Avoid distractions and always practice defensive driving.
