3 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 29 in Rutherford
RUTHERFORD, CA (August 22, 2023) — Three people suffered various injuries in a head-on accident on Highway 29 near Bella Oaks Lane.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 6:41 a.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a northbound Nissan crossed the center line. Subsequently, it crashed into a southbound Chevrolet work truck occupied by two people.
Due to the collision, the 62-year-old Nissan driver suffered major injuries and received hospital care at Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Chevrolet driver suffered cuts, and his front-seat passenger sustained a broken ankle.
Authorities do not know what led to the accident. However, they will perform an investigation to identify these factors.
