PINION HILLS, CA (December 3, 2024) — Three people were injured in a 5-car accident on Highway 138 near Wintergreen Road.
Emergency crews responded to the accident on November 29 around 2:04 a.m. Upon arrival, California Highway Patrol officers found two people trapped — one in a Lincoln Navigator and the other in a Jeep model. First Responders were quick to extricate both patients before calling Mercy Air #2 and Reach Air Medical #43 helicopters to the scene. Medics airlifted both to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. A third patient was taken by a ground ambulance.
Following the collision, CHP officers investigated the details to learn that roughly five cars collided, including a black Cadillac and two unknown vehicles. Police did not confirm if alcohol, distracted driving or speed factored into the cause.
If anyone can help with this accident, contact local authorities.
It can be difficult to see driving in the night. Focus on the road and prepare to respond to emergencies. Multi-vehicle accidents happen when drivers follow each other too closely. It is important to monitor your speed and limit distractions.
