3 Hurt in 3-Car Crash on Academy Avenue in Sanger

 
SANGER, CA (March 1, 2024) — Three people suffered minor to major injuries in a 3-car accident on Academy Avenue near North Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a Toyota driver heading southbound on Academy Avenue failed to stop at the four-way stop sign. Subsequently, the Toyota traveled through the intersection and struck a Kia that had the right of way and a third car stopped in the northbound lane.
 
Minutes later, emergency personnel arrived and took the Toyota driver to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries. All other drivers sustained minor wounds.
 
Authorities did not explain the accident but are looking into whether DUI factored into the cause.
