2 People Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on Balboa Boulevard

LAKE BALBOA, CA (December 15, 2021) — Two people were seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on Balboa Boulevard at Sherman Way on Monday night.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, a woman in a 2014 Hyundai SUV was speeding eastbound on Sherman Way. Subsequently, she ran a red light and crashed into a southbound Honda CRV. Meanwhile, two other vehicles became involved in the mayhem.

Instead of helping the crash victims, the Hyundai driver fled on foot.

Shortly after, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported two people from the Honda CRV to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, the driver of the Hyundai remains unaccounted for. However, officers are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can lead authorities to her arrest and conviction.

Factors such as speeding and distracted driving increase the likelihood of a car accident. When behind the wheel, exercise caution and defensive driving at all times.
