2 Hurt After Big Rig Crashes on Highway 99 in Madera
MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 13, 2024) — Two people were injured in an accident after a big rig and a pickup truck collided on Highway 99 near Avenue 12.
According to the California Highway Patrol Madera office, the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a big rig driver made an unsafe lane change on the northbound highway. Subsequently, the big rig struck a pickup truck, causing both vehicles to crash into the temporary construction zone barrier before crossing into the southbound side.
Moments later, authorities took both drivers to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment of minor injuries.
