2 Officers Struck, Injured by DUI Driver on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (September 22, 2022) — Two officers were hit and injured by a DUI driver on Telegraph Avenue near 30th Street on Monday.
 
According to Deputy Chief James Beere, the incident happened around 11:45 p.m. when two Oakland police officers were investigating a double homicide in the 3000 block of Telegraph Avenue. As one officer was inside a patrol vehicle, and another was standing outside of it, a suspected drunk driver slammed into the vehicle and the officer.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and brought both officers to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, investigators arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
