SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 8, 2022) — Two people were injured after a car crashed into a tree on Highway 101 near El Sueno Road.
 
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the single-car accident happened around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. For unknown reasons, a driver in a white sedan struck a tree and blocked the right-hand lane.
 
As a result of the accident, the driver suffered critical injuries while one passenger sustained moderate injuries. Arriving paramedics brought both patients to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for immediate care after extricating the victims from the vehicle.
