COACHELLA, CA (August 15, 2023) — Two people sought hospitalization following a 3-car accident at Avenue 48 and Grapefruit Boulevard.
 
According to officials, the three-car accident happened around 9:00 p.m. Saturday. Under unclear circumstances, three vehicles collided. However, one of the drivers attempted to flee the scene, but bystanders were able to detain the eloping motorist until deputies arrived.
 
Due to the crash, two people suffered unknown injuries and required hospital care. Since authorities have not established the leading cause of the crash, deputies will look into DUI. If anyone has additional information, please call the Coachella Police Department.
