2 Killed, 4 Hospitalized in Car Crash on 5 Freeway in Kern County

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (April 10, 2023) — Two people died, and four people were injured in a car accident on the 5 Freeway at Laval Road.
 
According to the Kern County Fire Department, the fatal accident happened around 2:48 a.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, a car crashed and six people were ejected from the vehicle.
 
Tragically, two people died at the scene and four people needed immediate care for their life-threatening injuries. A medical helicopter arrived soon after to airlift several patients to the hospital.
 
Officials have not addressed what caused the crash, but an ongoing investigation should confirm the details. As soon as the Kern County Coroner’s Office notifies family members, they will release the names.
