2 Detained in Police Pursuit Crash on Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia

 
VALENCIA, CA (March 6, 2024) — Two people were arrested in a police chase accident on Magic Mountain Parkway near the 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office, the police chase occurred around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Upon seeing a 2011 BMW sedan speeding on the northbound freeway, officers tried to make a traffic stop. However, the suspect fled north on the 5 Freeway before traveling back down to Castaic, reaching over 100 miles per hour. Soon after, CHP units deployed a spike strip near Rye Canyon Road, causing the suspect to slow down and exit off the freeway.
 
At Magic Mountain Parkway, the BMW rear-ended an Audi before the car stopped near the raised center median.
 
Following the crash, officers arrested two suspects and took them into custody. Reports did not say if any occupants reported any injuries.
