Maddie Fletcher Dies in Hit-and-Run 2-Car Crash on Highway 1 near Aguajito Road

 
MONTEREY, CA (November 11, 2024) — Maddie Fletcher died in a hit-and-run two-car accident on Highway 1 near Aguajito Road.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash around 9:48 a.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, driver of a silver Nissan crashed into a black Honda, driven by 19-year-old Maddie Elizabeth Fletcher, of Shelby, North Carolina.
 
Due to the impact, the Honda lost control, veered off the road and plowed into a tree. Meanwhile, the Nissan driver continued driving without identifying him or herself.
 
Due to the severity of her injuries, Fletcher passed away and was identified by the coroner’s office.
