Girl Riding Bicycle Dies after Struck by Car on Riggin Avenue in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (January 22, 2024) – A 17-year-old girl was hit and killed by a car on Riggin Avenue in Visalia Saturday evening on January 20.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:50 p.m. near Shirk Street. According to the Visalia Police Department, the 17-year-old girl was riding her bicycle in the eastbound lane of Riggin Avenue when a car struck her.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the girl to Kaweah Health, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
