Pedestrian Accident on East 42nd Place in South LA Sends Child to Hospital

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (November 8, 2021) – An 11-year-old child was taken to a hospital after a pedestrian accident on East 42nd Place in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 4:41 p.m. on November 5. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the child was either standing or walking in the area of 1248 East 42nd Place when a vehicle struck them.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and transported the child to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, it is unclear is speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Authorities are still investigating to determine the cause and liability.
