1 Dead in Fed-Ex Truck Crash on South Street in Cerritos

 
CERRITOS, CA (January 6, 2022) — One person died in a FedEx truck accident on South Street at Bloomfield Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the fatal accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a car, believed to have been traveling at excessive speeds, barreled through the intersection and collided with the right side of a FedEx delivery truck.
 
At some point during the crash, four other cars became involved, including a silver SUV.
 
Soon after, police officers and paramedics responded and found a vehicle damaged beyond recognition and a person with fatal injuries. According to the FedEx driver, he had just started his shift and had over 100 deliveries for the day.
 
At this time, officers have not confirmed the ultimate circumstances of the accident. However, any witnesses with information should contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
